Re the comments by Messrs Elder and Sperrman: I thought I was saying 'Wullie', but the spectre of my former elocution teacher, Miss Fountain, looms large. As for the tackety/Airwair debate, this is health and safety territory, and the change goes along with the loss of catapults, 'fechtin'' the strap and much else worth the bemoaning.
